I’m Hannah Wilkinson, a Certified Children’s Activity Business Strategist and the owner of Tumble Tots Huddersfield & Sheffield.

I’ve spent the last 12 years working in the children’s activities sector — not just running the business, but teaching classes, training staff and working directly with the families who walk through the door each week. That experience has taught me that a successful children’s activity business is about far more than delivering a great class.

I also understand the particular opportunities and challenges of working within an established franchise brand — balancing the wider business model with what actually works for customers at local level.

I’m fascinated by everything that happens around the class: why a parent chooses you in the first place, what turns a trial into a customer, what makes families stay, how children progress through your programme and whether the experience you’re creating really reflects what you want your business to stand for.

My starting point is usually to understand what makes your business special. Often the best ideas are already there, in your programme, your customer experience, your story and the things you do instinctively, but haven’t yet been recognised or communicated clearly.

I love helping business owners uncover those ideas, strengthen the experience they offer and turn what makes them different into something their customers can understand and connect with.

Before we ask how to get more customers through the door, sometimes it’s worth looking at what’s happening to the customers already coming through it.
