When Becci Jones became a franchisee, she didn’t go into business chasing big numbers, online courses, or “passive income”.
She wanted a job she loved.
Something that fitted around her family.
Something that felt meaningful.
What she didn’t expect was how quickly she’d realise that running a business — even within a franchise — comes with a whole new skill set no one really prepares you for.
Marketing.
Selling.
Time management.
And the constant juggle of being a parent and a business owner.
“I thought franchising would be easier…”
Becci launched her Lullababy franchise in October 2024, delivering baby development, sensory and baby spa sessions across Lincoln and West Lindsey.
Her background was in education and children’s services. She knew children. She loved working with families. Delivery wasn’t the issue.
But like so many class-based business owners, she quickly realised something important:
“The day-to-day stuff was fine — it was the marketing side I found difficult. I’d never marketed anything before. I’d never sold anything before.”
Franchising gave her structure — but it didn’t magically give her marketing confidence, sales systems, or a future-proof income.
And with a young child at home, the work–life balance started to feel heavy.
Finding the missing piece
Becci first came across my work through one of my Purple Cow free events. Later, when I partnered with Lisa Johnson for the Race to Recurring Revenue Challenge, something clicked.
This wasn’t about escaping classes.
It wasn’t about becoming an “online guru”.
It was about learning how to build something sustainable alongside her existing business.
“I wanted to understand how to future-proof my income. How to set myself up properly.”
She joined the challenge — and very quickly realised just how much she didn’t know… and how valuable that knowledge could be.
From overwhelm to clarity (and confidence)
The challenge environment is busy. Thousands of business owners. Lots of noise.
That’s why Becci chose to join KrissyCrew — our private WhatsApp support group running alongside the challenge.
“Having that support from someone who understands my sector was a massive bonus.”
Instead of trying to figure everything out alone, she had:
- A focused community
- A safe place to ask questions
- People at the same stage, facing the same challenges
By the end of the challenge, she didn’t even hesitate about joining the full One to Many Programme.
“There was so much value — it would’ve been silly not to.”
Using One to Many inside her existing business
Here’s what’s important about Becci’s story.
She didn’t rush to create a brand-new online business.
She didn’t force an idea that didn’t feel right.
Instead, she took everything she learned and applied it directly to her Lullababy business.
She focused on:
- Growing her audience
- Bringing people into her world
- Creating simple, effective lead magnets
- Nurturing relationships properly
One of her summer lead magnets — a guide for parents of under-3s in Lincoln — brought 120 brand new people into her audience organically.
Those people didn’t just download and disappear.
They:
- Joined her WhatsApp community (now over 250 parents)
- Booked seasonal sessions
- Attended weekly classes
- Became part of a thriving local community
Systems over hustle
One of the biggest shifts for Becci wasn’t more work — it was better focus.
Early in the programme, she learned a lesson that changed everything:
“If it doesn’t meet your goal, say no.”
She started time-blocking.
She stopped reacting to distractions.
She got clear on what actually moved her business forward.
And the result?
Things that once took constant effort became automated.
Decisions became easier.
Confidence grew.
£46,000 in year one — with more to come
At the end of her first year in business, Becci’s turnover was £46,000.
In her words:
“I really don’t think my business would’ve been as successful without this programme.”
And the story doesn’t stop there.
Through the journey, something unexpected happened. Becci realised she didn’t just want to build her own success — she wanted to help others do the same.
She’s now stepping into her next chapter as a Children’s Activity Business Strategist, using everything she’s learned to support other providers across the UK.
Her advice to anyone sitting on the fence?
Simple. Honest. No fluff.
“Do it. You won’t regret it.
You get so much knowledge, from people who genuinely know what they’re talking about — and you’re guided to actually do the work.”
